    Better oil/coolant separation: The updated design uses separate/divorced oil and coolant routing, rather than depending primarily on a seal to keep the two fluids separated. This is a major advantage over some aftermarket aluminum housings.

    Addresses a common weak point: The oil-filter housing/adapter on 3.6L Pentastar applications has been a common source of leaks. The updated OEM assembly is intended to improve long-term reliability.
